Professor Martti Mantyla is the Director of the Advanced Research Unit of the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT. He obtained his Dr.Sc. in computer science from Helsinki University of Technology in 1983. He has since worked as professor of information technology at Helsinki University of Technology from 1987. He has been a visiting researcher at Stanford University, Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics and IBM Research Laboratory in Yorktown Heights. His field of interests includes user-centred methods for digital service design; security, privacy and trust in mobile services; and future internet architecture, including related themes in digital economy.
