Biography

Kirsimarja Blomqvist
Professor, Lappeenranta University of Technology

    is a Professor for knowledge management and a vice-director for Technology Business Research Center at Lappeenranta University of Technology (www.tbrc.fi). She has working experience as a corporate analyst and risk financer for technology-based firms and as a Director for TeliaSonera (part-time). Her research interests include the emerging theory of trust and its applications, R&D and innovation management, strategic alliances as well as inter- and intra-organizational collaboration.
    Her 10-person research group works currently under a theme of "Networked R&D and Collaborative Innovation" where researchers focus on issues such as trust, IPR, contracting, coopetition, absorptive capacity, renewal capability, informal and formal networks in innovation projects as well as virtual teams and communities as well as coopetition in a knowledge-based network economy. Project is financed by Finnish companies and Tekes (www.tbrc.fi/access).
    She has published in R&D Management, Technovation, European Journal of Innovation Management, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, Creativity and Innovation Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Scandinavian Journal of Management, Journal of Strategic Change, Journal of International Production Economics, International Journal of Management Concepts and Philosophy, Journal of Workplace Learning, as well as book chapters in several international and Finnish books.
    Her PhD published in 2002, "Partnering in the Dynamic Environment - The Role of Trust and Technology in Asymmetric Technology Partnership Formation", was given a special 85 year award for its managerial contribution by Finnish Foundation for Business Education (Liikesivistysrahasto).
