Biography

Hanqing Lu
Professor, CASIA

    Hanqing LU was born in April 27, 1961. Now, he is a professor in Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and is deputy director of National Lab. of Pattern Recognition.
    Hanqing LU got his B.S and M.S. from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1982 and 1985. He got his PH.D. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1992. In 1985-1987, he was a assistant professor in Harbin Institute of Technology. He was a post-doctor in Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1992-1994. In 1994-1999, he was a associated professor in Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is professor in Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences , from 1999 to current. Dr. LU was a RA staff in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1997 and was a RA staff in Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1998.
    Dr. LU has being working in image processing and video analysis since 1982. His research included remote sensing processing, medical image system, content based image/video retrieving, objects recognition and tracking, video analysis, sport video analysis and so on. He has published papers about 170, include journal in IEEE Trans. On Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, Pattern Recognition, Pattern Recognition Letters, Neurocomputing, Signal Processing, IEICE Transaction on Information and System and conference in ICCV, CVPR, ICPR, ICIP, ICME, ACM MM, FG. His works ware awarded the second national award of Natural Sciences, the second award of natural sciences in Chinese Academy of Sciences, the third award of national culture department.
    He is a vice secretary-general of China Society of Image and Graphics, is editor member of Chinese Journal of Computers. Dr. Lu was Program Committee Chair: SPIE Third International Symposium on Multispectral Image Processing and Pattern Recognition, was Program Committee Member of ICCV 2005, IEEE ICICIC 2006 and ICPR 2006. He was session chair of ACCV 2004 and CGIV 2005.
